The Alzheimer's Association is the only national voluntary health organization dedicated to research into the causes, cures, treatments and prevention of Alzheimer's disease, and to providing education and support services to individuals with Alzheimer's and their caregivers. The Greater New Jersey Chapter, one of the largest chapters in the Association's network, carries out the organization's goals on a local level in the fourteen northern, central, and southern New Jersey counties that encompass our service area. These counties include: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.
The Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is a founding member and affiliate chapter of the national Alzheimer's Association -- the largest national voluntary health organization dedicated to advancing research for the causes, treatments and prevention of Alzheimer's disease. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. We carry out our mission in the community by providing 24-hour Helpline services, professional staff care consultation, community and professional education and training programs, caregiver support groups, respite care assistance services, collaborating with research centers, and through increasing public awareness, and advocating on behalf of persons with Alzheimer's disease.
