American Red Cross Connecticut Region
The American Red Cross is ready, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to come to the aid of disaster victims around the corner, across the country and around the world. The disaster assistance the Red Cross provides is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. It is not a loan, it is an outright gift. That is why one of the best ways to help neighbors right now is through a donation.
A donation to the Connecticut Chapter will help people in need in our local communities. Each year, the Red Cross responds to an average of 500 local disasters in Connecticut, including fires, flooding, hazardous material spills, and storm-related incidents. That's three to four responses each week. We spend an average of $950 on each incident. Your contribution to the Connecticut Chapter will help us to provide such services as temporary housing, food, clothing, medicine replacement, and physical and mental health assistance to local families whose lives are turned upside down by disaster. |
