The Disabled Police Officers Counseling Center, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was established in 1992. Its purpose is to provide a much needed and worthwhile service of psychological counseling (individual, family, career and group counseling) to police officers and members of their families. This service is provided free of charge. All of the counselors are former police officers with graduate degrees in the mental health field. DPOCC serves law enforcement officers both retired and active.
There are frustrations and anxieties associated with this type of retirement that require support and understanding from the law enforcement family they once belonged to, and the general public, which they dedicated their lives to, in service. The DPOCC is just such a support system, and all of its services and programs are provided to disabled, retired and active law enforcement officers. It is the DPOCC's Mission, that through its services and programs, the quality of life for this group of public servants, will be greatly enhanced.
