Boy Scouts of America Troop 72 was chartered in 1921.  We are in our 81st year of affiliation with the same sponsor, The Stratford United Methodist Church.

The purpose of Boys Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for boys and young men to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.  In short, we are building good, strong, responsible, confident young men, of good moral character.  We do this through various activities including high adventure outdoor activities, camping, and through community service projects.  Scouting makes a direct and positive impact on the community by teaching positive values and leadership skills to youth.  Participation in the Boys Scouts of America, at any age, plays a major role in shaping lasting values and the use of these values in daily life.  Those young people who have embraced the message of scouting, have and will, serve our nation well.  DONATE NOW.
