The non-profit Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) was born in 1978, after horrified San Joaquin County citizens learned about Latanya Smith.  Three-year-old Latanya Smith was beaten to death by her mother's boyfriend while her mother listened from the bedroom.  The Council works to eliminate child abuse in San Joaquin County through prevention, intervention, and education.  DONATE NOW.
