The mission of Heritage Humane Society, Inc. is to provide for the care of injured, ill, stray, or unwanted companion animals of the city of Williamsburg, James City County, and the First District of York County, Virginia, so that a standard of care reflecting the values of the community can be achieved.
How Your Donation Helps
The animals need your help! More than one-half of our budget comes from animal-lovers like you. Donate to the HHS and help us buy food and medicines, maintain and improve our facilities, and promote adoptions and education. The Heritage Humane Society receives 1,200 lost, stray and unwanted companion animals a year. Of those animals over 1,000 are adopted into loving and permanent homes. Many others remain in rescues, foster homes, or hospice care.
Heritage Humane Society serves as a compassionate haven for stray or unwanted companion animals, educates the public about humane care and treatment, advocates animal welfare, and promotes adoption to measurably reduce overpopulation and pet homelessness.
