If you’ve ever wondered how to donate a car to charity then you’ve already considered how you can help make a difference in the world. If you live in the Midwest, Easter Seals of Wisconsin has paired with Donate a Car to make your donation easy and to put your generosity to good work. For 90 years Easter Seals Wisconsin has been helping individuals with disabilities to live lives of greater independence and opportunity.

Raising Independence

One of the hallmarks of success in life is attaining a level of independence that allows for good decision making and the chance to develop and use beneficial skills, and the opportunity to overcome disability. Through their FARM program, Easter Seals Wisconsin is helping farmers who have suffered a debilitating injury to remain on their farms with assistance to adjust equipment and routine to fit their new needs.

A disability shouldn’t mean the end of a career. The FARM program knows how determined a person has to be to be a farmer and how challenging that can be with a disability. Working with an Easter Seals FARM specialist, each farmer’s operation is evaluated, adjustments are made to their operation to give them the opportunity to remain on their farm and continue to support their family. With a 97% success rate, the FARM program has proven itself to be invaluable and is paving the way for similar programs all over the country.

Encouraging Entrepreneurs

Self-employment is fast becoming a very successful direction to go for many disabled individuals. Through the Easter Seals Self-Employment Services, many disabled individuals, who find traditional employment difficult, are finding success in owning their own business. From inception to follow-through, Easter Seals helps disabled individuals find business models that will lead them to success and greater autonomy.

Taking a Break

Caring for a disabled loved one is a challenge for any family and Easter Seals knows how important it is for patient and parent alike to have a chance to take a break. With several age-appropriate camps to choose from, disabled campers can enjoy accessible camping activities, have fun, and get to be a kid in the Wisconsin Dells, while their caregivers have a much needed respite.

Your donation to Easter Seals Wisconsin, through the Donate a Car program, can ensure that these valuable programs keep making an impact in your community.
