The complicated exchange of psychological and physical trauma that proceeds severe burn injuries can deeply affect the lives of kids for many years. Through the large range of services and programs from the Firefighters Burn Institute, young burn survivors can experience new hope and an opportunity for a full recovery. One of these services is the Firefighters Kids Camp that is going on July 9th through the 15th of this year, 2017 at Camp Arroyo in Livermore, California.
This camp is held each year to benefit young burn survivors from 6 years old to 17, providing a safe and fun environment for character development, personal growth and healing in a natural setting. You can help young burn survivors by donating your unwanted car to the Firefighters Burn Institute.

A thoroughly-trained and energetic volunteer staff of firefighters, adult burn survivors, mental health specialist, burn care specialist, nurses and trained recreational leaders are there to support the program. A 24/7 camp nurse is always on duty as well as a physical therapist for kids needing to continue their therapy. Supervision is ensured with the 1:3 minimum staff-to-camper ratio. It’s their goal to make sure the needs and expectations of these campers are always met.
